This section of our site is dedicated to anybody interested in Fishing in it's many forms, with useful safety, weather and tide links at the bottom of the page. We have initially just a few pages on Sea Fishing (angling) in our area Newquay and Cornwall, but I will expand it as time permits to include further links to Fishing information in general including the commercial variety in the meantime have a look at some of my Videos or photos of my boats.

Have you caught some fish and aren't sure what to do with them, our site can help. We have pages on filleting Flat Fish, (such as Plaice or Dabs), Round Fish (Cod, Whiting, Mackerel), getting the bones out and general preparation. There is a Cooking Chart with timings for the various methods of cooking different varieties, and if all else fails, try the recipe section for a few ideas and links to good recipe sources.

The first couple of pages are courtesy of friends of ours in the Bait Shop in Fore Street above the harbour. If you are in Newquay their shop is well worth a visit, you will get un-biased advice and all the help you need, especially if you are a novice.

For now if you are coming to Cornwall the following may be of interest..

With the number of Web Cams pointing at the sea, the opportunity is there to have a look before you travel to the coast.
Especially useful to the surfing and boating community's the BBC has hundreds of links for Devon and Cornwall.

Don't forget even the most experienced fishermen need help sometimes, our lifeboat service is manned by volunteers who risk their lives to save others, and is funded by solely voluntary contributions. Visit their site at www.lifeboats.org.uk where you will find details of how anyone can help, with links to the latest news of boats in action right now, and details of all the Lifeboats stations around the UK. Padstow Lifeboat station is one of many to have it's own web site http://www.padstow-lifeboat.org.uk/ and is in the process of building a new station house, to house a newer boat.
